October Character Education Assembly

Our October Character Education Assembly called for a special guest!

My father, Northeast Community College basketball coach, visited with the students about the importance of RESPONSIBILITY.

Earlier in the day, Chase and Tanner were able to ask my father a few questions.

Alan Anderson, a sophomore at NECC, also spoke to us about the importance of responsibility!

Stay tuned via Twitter @NMS_6thGr_Team1 for our video footage!

Thank you, Northeast Hawks, for the basketball entertainment!

Finally, I'd like to recognize our October Students of the Month!

Congratulations!  Thank you for modeling responsibility each day!

And a special shout-out to Kayla & Tanner - OUR 6th Grade TEAM 1 winners! 😊

February Character Education Assembly

Congratulations Caiden & Natalie!

Caiden & Natalie were nominated by their teachers for showing perseverance!

Next, we were treated with an amazing performance by Royal Pride - NHS show choir!

After the show choir performance, Lynn Waitter shared some powerful words with our students.

"Don't sell yourself short. Start each day by saying, "I matter. I'm special, I'm smart."

Her message was simple, but powerful: Stay positive!  Believe in yourself!

The assembly ended with a selection ceremony for the annual track meet. Chloe was nominated by her peers to represent Team 1.  Way to go, Chloe!

Let the games begin...
