Have you tried BreakOut EDU?

Earlier this year, students were challenged to a game of BreakOut EDU!

Haven't heard of BreakOut EDU?  Check out this video!

BreakOut EDU allows students to use problem solving, critical thinking, and communication skills in a challenge escape game.  Students are given clues to solve in order to "breakout" into the locked box.

Check out these pictures from our first breakout game!  The students had a blast while learning!

We use IXL!

Congrats to Daisy!  She's completed all 33 skills on the task list!  Who's next?

I'm pleased to announce that Norfolk Public Schools has purchased a subscription to IXL Math AND Language Arts this year for your 6th grader!
What is IXL?
IXL is a comprehension math and language arts review site with an unlimited number of practice questions in hundreds of skills—all of which are aligned to state standards.

Are you new to IXL?  If so, please bookmark this website on your home computer.  Your child has a unique username and password to login.
(This information can be found in their planner.)
An overwhelming amount of skills can be found on IXL, so I've created a checklist of IXL skills linked to NE state standards.  This checklist/bookmark can be found in your child's planner.

Please encourage the practice of this program at home! Even a couple of minutes each night can help your sixth grader!  Practice and excel!

To date, our language class has achieved mastery on 600 language arts skills! This is amazing achievement considering we've only been in session for 9 weeks!  Keep up the good work!
